Budapest: Heroes' Square. Prince Árpád and his six chieftains

Prince Arpad

Under a tall Corinthian column topped by Archangel Gabriel holding the apostolic cross and the crown of St. Stephen,  Prince Árpád and six other Magyar warriors seem to be looking into the future of the land they conquered. They are the central part of the Monument designed by György Zala and Albert Schikedanz for the Hungarian Millenium Celebrations in 1896, but finished only in 1929.
