Prague: Art Nouveau entranceway at 112/55 Spálena Street

Secession gate and entrance

This entranceway at Spálena Street was designed by one of the most famous Czech Art Nouveau architects, Osvald Polívka (1859-1931).  Notice the masterful integration of Art Nouveau elements in the overall design: the alternating colors of the façade, the stucco decoration with scrolls, flowers, branches, and whimsical masks, the fancy iron railings, and the elaborate wrought-iron gate.
