Prague: St. Vaclav (Wenceslas) Monument

St. Vaclav (Wenceslas) Monument

One of the symbols of Prague, the statue of St. Wenceslas on Wenceslas Square was designed by Josef Myslbek in 1912.  At the foot of the monument Jan Palach immolated himself in protest to the Soviet invasion of his country in 1969, and many anti-government demonstrations began here.
