Larry Pino is a business and investment attorney and the Managing Director of an active private investment firm. His focus is on starting, developing and growing business enterprises.
By way of background, Larry attended Catholic schools throughout his student life, followed by post-secondary education:
Larry’s professional career has encompassed law, business, writing, and speaking.
Larry’s professional background on the legal side began when he opened his law practice in Orlando. Throughout his entire career, Larry has specialized in all aspects of commercial, business, real estate, and securities law, due to his strong background in business. About half of his work in the legal field has been on the transactional side and the other half has been on the litigation side. Larry is currently admitted to practice law and is in good standing as a member of the bar in 3 different states (CA, FL & NY), as well as in various courts (federal, district and appellate courts) across the country.
On the business side, Larry has been involved in business starting in college at Notre Dame. Since then, Larry has been involved in all aspects of businesses including retail stores, restaurant operations and athletic warehousing and distribution centers – one of his companies became the largest institutional bid business in the state of Florida, providing athletic inflatables such as footballs, basketballs, kickballs and so forth, to school boards and county rec departments – and Larry founded and operated numerous educational institutes which provided professional certification programs to adult professionals.
Larry also founded a very substantial multi-million dollar business process outsource provider, delivering software and training programs on an international level. It gave Larry the opportunity to develop and expand a set of software products for the capital markets, used for trading the equities, options, commodities, and forex markets as well as the first retail automated trading platform, which was called CommandTrade.
In general, Larry has sold over $1.5 billion of products and services at the consumer level, through B2B and B2C relationships, employing over 2,000 employees and managing nine-figure mid-sized companies.
In addition, Larry has written six published books and he continues to write as often as he can and when time permits. His most recent book, Reinventing Senior Living, has just been released for distribution in October 2017.
While Larry is not particularly active today in the speaking world, at one point, he traveled the country on the national speakers circuit, lecturing on legal and investment topics to well over one million people. Larry left the speaking circuit behind when he and his wife, Janet, began having kids, wanting to stay home to enjoy the parenting experience. The two of them have three children.
As the final introductory precursor to this course, Larry has been involved in starting and developing some 70 to 80 different businesses over his professional career. In that capacity, virtually everything he has done has been as a start-up. That’s what truly motivates him to want to teach this course. He’d like to use this course to teach you not just how to start a business, but to start business that is capable of rapid scalable growth.
My history has suggested that the businesses in which I have been involved have experienced rapid growth. As a matter of fact, the only business I’ve been involved in that has not rapidly grown was my law practice. That was because, by design and intention, I never intended on empire building for the law practice. I wanted to maintain a relatively small, boutique law firm, where I could have the satisfaction of personal contact with clients. I just felt more comfortable having clients that I knew everything about: their lives, their businesses and their families, and making sure based on that, that they got the quality of representation they deserved to get from me.
However, as to every other business, I’ve learned what those techniques are and what processes and protocols should be used to leverage rapid growth in business.
And so, what is this course about?
It has been designed for you to not only identify what is a sustainable business, but to understand the methodology by which you will be scaling it. I prefer to call it, “rapid enterprise development,” because that’s what it really is.
I have found three prior books I’ve written – Finding Your Niche, Desktop Lawyer and Cash in on Cash Flow – satisfactorily identify those methodologies which will be effective for not only this course, but we will be expanding those themes based on current literature in the field.
I have always loved every aspect of business. I love the envisioning, operating and the opportunity for creating great output. Maybe the best way I can describe it is that I really do see a business as “a block of clay.” I may not be terribly artistic, but I can clearly embrace what a sculptor does with a block of clay and with a hammer or mallet, slowly chipping away, being able to then step back and see how this thing is coming along; and then being able to go back in and chisel more until what you end up with is a real work of art, something beautiful to behold. That’s the way I see business. I see a business as an opportunity for creative expression not only in the nitty-gritty of it, but most importantly with respect to what it takes to make this thing into a wonderful piece of art.
And so, I look forward to having you take that creative journey with me as we explore how to sculpt this art together – one you will be proud to have created. Thanks for being here and I’ll see you soon.
