The fifth dimension is all around us, so why do we not see it?

Michio Kaku and Brian Greene use two different metaphors to relate the concept of electromagnetism being an actual additional dimension to the three dimensions of space and one dimension of time that Einstein called spacetime. We all live in spacetime, but prefer to envision it as space and time.

Both are ways to envision, what only a mathematical formula now reveals to true about the world. Three dimensions are insufficient to examine and explain how the cosmos came into being, functions to sustain itself, and persists into the future.
